She's right -- we have some great wackos who run for office in this state. But you even see weirdness in mainstream races. State Sen. Joe Neal ran for governor on the Democratic ticket, but didn't even have the support of his own party. They neither supported nor opposed his bid. It was bad for Democrats across the country, but particularly bad in Nevada. We had a real pack of winners running this time, and they were completely shellacked. There was also the pot initiative, which any fool could have told you would never pass. Yes we have gambling, yes we have prostitution. We also have tons of Mormons and conservatives. Gambling happens in heavily regulated casinos; prostitution happens in the cow counties and is far from glamorous. Pot is popular with hippies, and God knows Nevada doesn't need any more of those!
