>> In case you missed the Iron Chef rematch between that jerk-off Bobby Flay and Masaharu Morimoto on Sunday, here's a
New York Times recap. Very entertaining story, even if you did see the show:
"The way he sliced the corn off the cob is so bold!" a Japanese actress-judge said, after Mr. Flay stood a cob on its end and sliced the kernels off with a knife. It was not particularly bold, though not bothering to use fresh carrot or mango was.
It was quite a coincidence that the actress kept describing Mr. Flay's every culinary move as "bold," considering that the word is trumpeted in the titles of all his cookbooks. Perhaps the actress had read them.
When he slathered brown powder from a Bobby Flay-brand spice jar onto a giant slab of kobe beef (the most expensive substance on earth) and threw it in a frying pan, the actress seemed stunned and also a little worried.
"Oh!" she said.
