New ad sizes have started to show up on the redesigned News.com site. Instead of banners or tiles, there's a large Flash box embedded in the story which allows for interactivity.

Pros: Less clutter on the page, quick load times (if you have a fast computer), interactivity.

Cons: They're huge and invasive (pros for advertisers!), they sport non-intuitive design -- some designer decided that the scrollbars could be improved upon by reversing the directional controls.

This is probably the future of advertising on the Web.
